BECI Q&A and comment-writing help — Hillpoint (Sauk County)

Have questions about BECI, or want help writing your comment before the September 7 deadline? Local No 765 Line volunteers in Sauk County are hosting a drop-in Q&A and comment-writing help session on Wednesday, September 2 starting at 4:00 pm, at VFW Post 3434, S6088 State Road 154, Hillpoint.

Why it matters. BECI is a proposed 765 kV transmission line of roughly 190 miles running from Crawford County east across southern Wisconsin to the Illinois state line, developed by Midcontinent Grid Solutions, a joint venture of Transource Energy and BHE Transmission. Sauk County is inside the nine-county study area the developer has published; no route has been chosen and no application has been filed. Comments on the developer’s 78 study segments close September 7, 2026. Bring your address so volunteers can help you find your segment and submit a comment; see our step-by-step comment guide ahead of time if you can.
