The businesses on this page have gone on the record about the transmission line proposed through the middle of it: publicly, simply, and at no cost.

A 765,000-volt (765 kV) transmission line — you may have seen it called MariBell or BECI — has been proposed through the Driftless region, on steel towers 150 to 200 feet tall. No route is final and no application has been filed yet, but the corridors under study run through the counties where we all live and do business. Wisconsin ratepayers — every household, farm, and business that pays an electric bill — would help pay for the multi-billion-dollar build, and the line is not designed to deliver power to our area.
